It’s a new year and not the ideal temperature for riding, but every year you should have a new wake goal. Learn a new invert or add a 180 to a existing trick you have is the most common thing to do. Well, this year it’s for the guy who hasn’t ridden in a while or takes 1 set every so often. Slingshot has a new board this year called the Nomad and it’s here to revive the passion you once had wakeboarding. The Nomad is about having fun and making wakeboarding easier. This board is all about increased stability, strong pop, softer landings, cruising at slower speeds, and a much larger surface area. It’s big. It’s really big, but it’s really a simple idea, and a perfect one at that. You don’t need a super aggressive board or your typical 142cm size anymore, you need a Nomad. This board is built for larger riders or riders with bad knees who really want to get out and slash around and throw some lofty wake-to-wake jumps. It comes in a 150, 155, and 160, and it’s guaranteed to make you have fun again on the water!
One of our favorite things to watch are films done by riders for riders. Watch Chris O’Shea and his friends rip around this planet and ride some of the best cable parks in the world. The film has a great mix of style and some of the best drone footage we’ve seen in some time. Enjoy!

Odyssey is a short film documenting the travels of Mitch Langfield and Chris O’Shea from April 2013 to April 2014 through France, Spain, Germany, Holland, England, Wales, Thailand, Australia, The Philippines.
“Everywhere you go you meet up with riders… We started collecting footage of us and Aaron Gunn in Europe last summer. Since then, in Australia, the US, Thailand and the Philippines we’ve shot James Windsor, Manu Rupp, Antoni Van der Wekken. Ben Leclair, Graeme Burress, Daniel Grant, Brad Mason… We basically filmed anyone who we liked. If we liked their riding then we filmed them. And us two (Mitch Langfield and Chris O’Shea), obviously!” Mitch Langfield.
1) The Captain’s chair means it’s your boat or you are deserving of the title “Capitan” while the owner takes a set.
2) The Portside DJ. It’s that simple! You are second in command and typically in charge of the playlist…don’t blow it. Boat mix 2015!
3) Bow party. Typically known as the sunbathing beauty area, you can now seat up to four comfortably in most new boats (i.e. the Nautique G21)
4) The bench. This used to be a bad spot, but with Nautique’s rear-facing capability, it’s one of the most chill spots ever! It’s not where you’re going, it’s where you’ve been.
5) Starboard side bench. This used to be a neck breaker, but now that you’ve got a backrest and are positioned right behind the driver, you’re sure to move up the ranks, as you might be relaying info to the driver via person being pulled behind the boat.
