“I needed this!”… a phrase heard several times over the weekend here on Lake Allatoona for event #4 of the 2021 Wake for Warriors season.  A sense of deep gratitude came over the water as a reflection of how exciting and confident we all were in cherishing these special moments following the pandemic.  The BuyWake crew joined Dave Deep, founder of WFW, and the rest of the group for another inspiring weekend full of blue skies, lake vibes, and shakas all around!

Kicking off the event, the chilly air of Friday morning lifted just as the coffee ran out and the riders started to shed their wetsuits. Boats were stocked with a quiver of wakeboards, wakesurfers and CGA vests provided by the good folks from Hyperlite Wake. For the new-goers, the day as a whole was an introduction to the healing power of water sports, and the more experienced veterans were captivated by a new challenge of foiling. Read More >

New Nautique, Some Golf, Daytona Bike Week and Back

How’s that for a title? Last week I ventured down to Florida with my good friend EBev (OG Hyperlite rep) to participate in some “team building” with our good friends and partners, Nautique. It was without a doubt one of the more fun trips I’ve ever had. Jam packed each day is an understatement.

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club

Our trip started with a nice little round of golf at a little hole in the wall golf course called Lake Nona Golf & Country Club a week after it hosted the 2021 Gainbridge LPGA event. NBD. We had a blast from start to finish, as the fairways were pure, the bunkers were visited, and the greens rolled about as fast as it gets. It was awesome to spend the day with such an inspiring group of guys that truly have a passion for their respective brands and know how to unwind and get away from the day-to-day and enjoy a solid round. Well played, boys. Read More >

Hyperlite’s CRASH & SMASH – Wakeboard Fails of 2019

These videos are always either hard to watch or addictive by nature, seeing pure carnage. Whatever floats your boat, you need to check out the edit that Spencer Norris put together for Hyperlite. Watch both street winching and boat riding get equally BROKE OFF with some sinister tunes.

“Crash & Smash is right, it happens when you push yourself in Wakeboarding and there is a price to pay for progression. Shaun Murray refers to it as the Fun Tax. Luckily for the Hyperlite Team the list of injuries during the 2019 season was minimal and manageable, going into 2020 we are healthier than years past. Looking back at all of the wakeboard fails it’s easy to see the passion our crew has for their craft. This is just a small compilation of the wrecks, smashes, close calls and miraculous ride outs from last season. You can see some tricks being developed, watch that spiny flippy thing Trever Maur is attempting. Or Rusty Malinoski pulling himself to safety mid double up and Cody Hesse riding away from kicker hits where we’d all have dropped the handle. Remember to always wear your Life Jacket and be safe while you push yourself on your next wakeboard adventure.” Read More >

The Nautique Wakesurf Masters at Callaway Gardens

This year the WWA and Nautique had 6 stops all over the world for their Wakesurf Series. The final event was this weekend at the legendary Robin Lake at Callaway Gardens, home of the Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament. The temperatures were high and the amount of money being given away was even higher. A total of $60,000 was awarded to both pro and amateur wakesurf divisions this weekend. That is not a typo. BuyWake teamed up with Hyperlite and had some of the latest 2020 wakesurfers to show those that were at the event. A few lucky people picked up some goods to take home with them. One of the highlights was seeing the new 2020 Nautique G23 in action all weekend, but for a couple of the boys here it was being able to wakesurf behind the event boat and on Robin Lake for the first time. We look forward to another great time at Callaway Gardens! Read More >
