Lake Ronix Trip – Recap

Courtney Kobold won a trip of a lifetime to Lake Ronix and all she had to do was enter!! Remember that next time we are having a contest because you too can win! Can you imagine spending two days at this magical place? Courtney was kind enough to send us a thoughtful email recounting her time at Lake Ronix.

So, Lake Ronix. It was definitely an experience.

We landed in Orlando Friday night and decided we should probably go out and celebrate by getting Brett drunk and we definitely succeeded. The next day we were given a tour of Lake Ronix, which is an incredible property, and took a couple sets on the boat on two Ronix surfers. We followed the day up with a rowdy night out with a couple of the team riders who were an absolute blast. Never a dull moment with Justin Teich and Todd Watson that’s for sure. The next morning started out with personally delivered Pizza for breakfast from Parks. What a legend. During the day we hit up the front lake for a couple down and backs. Which was awesome. That night we chilled out by the fire and Todd told some pretty interesting ghost stories. The next morning we went on a killer paddle around the entire lake with Lily (Justin’s pup). We then hung around the lake and watched Massi and Jamie throw down before we headed back to the airport. Being able to ride at Lake Ronix was definitely one for the books and we cannot wait to go back. We couldn’t thank BuyWake and Ronix enough for the opportunity and for the incredible time. Also, a special shout to Brett for being our Dad for the weekend, wouldn’t have made it with out you pops! Happy shreds until next time! Read More >

2016 Hyperlite, Byerly, and Nautique! Oh, My!

Having Fun in the Sun with Nautique Boats

Last weekend we had the opportunity to go visit the Marine Max Buford location and meet up with our Nautique Boats family!  They were in town for a “Ride with the Pros” event then headed to the Nautique Wake Surf Nationals and guess what…they had a 2016 G23!  It was great catching up with Noah Flegel and Jimmy LaRiche, and our longtime friend and rep for Hyperlite/Byerly, Eddie Beverly.  Eddie, or “EBev,” as he is most known by, had a special treat for us to see with a quiver of 2016 Hyperlite and Byerly surfers.  We must say that these two brands knocked it out of the park this year.  Most notably Hyperlite has this insane new shape called “The Time Machine.”  Seriously, if you know anything about surfing this board is similar to the Tomo surfboards Vader series, but tweaked for wakesurfing.  If that weren’t enough, the Time Machine features a cork top for maximum grip, as well as all new Futures Fins!  The Byerly crew also have another banger with the 2016 Action, as it features Durashell construction with a EPS core and yes, Byerly Futures Fins!  You would be wise to add either one of these to your quiver. 1. Hyperlite Kit

Hot out the gate one of the baddest boards for 2015 is the 2015 Hyperlite Union.  Graeme Burress showed us all what this board can do at every cable park he visited.  Another popular item this year that’s packed with comfort are the 2015 Team Closed Toe bindings.  If you don’t start with the proper footwear, everything else goes downhill.  Life vests aren’t always the most fashion things, but the 2015 Flex Vest looks great and provides plenty of movement and its U.S. Coast Guard approved rating means that it could save your life at the cable park or behind the boat.  Speaking of boat, if you’re rocking behind a Nautique or anything with a motor pick up this great 2015 Webb Handle and pair it with the 2015 X-Line for the best connection in wakeboarding.  Add it all up and you’ll save $361.05…that’s a lot of gas money. Ronix Review w/ Micah and Mertes

2015 Ronix Kinetik Project & El Von Videl Schnook Review!

Ronix Wakeboardsput a huge amount of research and development into their products and it shows.  Two of the best selling and most popular wakeboards in the 2015 lineup are the Kinetik Project and the El Von Videl Schnook.  We decided to send Ambush Board Co. and BuyWake.com employees Micah and Mertes to our local spot, Terminus Wake Park, for a little shred session and see how the two boards feel firsthand.  Don’t be fooled by the hilarious good times and all the high fives, these dudes are all business!  Watch the video below and read for yourself how they feel about the boards.

The Ronix 2015 Kinetik Project

“Brand new for 2015, the Ronix Kinetik Project is one of the best and most innovative cable boards I have ever ridden.  After a few laps around the park the first thing I noticed was how responsive and how alive the board felt under my feet.  The mixture of foam and wood makes the board super light, but also very durable.  The thing that stood out the most for me was how much pop that board has out of the water.  The two rocker lines make the board explode out of the water.  One of the coolest things is how responsive this board was on features.  The stored energy in the board makes it snap off  and on rails like a breeze.
