It’s been a long time coming for an event like the Body Glove Moxie Pro Series. The amount of support and engagement for an all women competition like this has been absolutely incredible. Starting with the online submissions all the way to the championship stop at Terminus Wakepark, this series has been filled with some amazing riding that has shown the world that women’s cable riding has gained a new caliber of technicality and style.

Kicking off the final stop of the series, the day started off with plenty of activities including a Body Glove SUP morning yoga class, foods trucks, and free beer, which added some extra spice to the mix that made you reminisce about some of the pre-pandemic pro competitions that we all remember and love. As for the women in this contest, they knew the assignment and took it to a whole other level. You could tell from some of the practice sessions that the riders were pushing themselves and testing new lines to hopefully take home the gold. Aside from the competition itself, the level of support that each of the women competitors had for each other throughout the day was like nothing I have ever seen before. Win or lose, these women were cheering each other on and keeping the hype on the dock at an all-time high. Read More >

Connect, Share, Celebrate and Serve. It’s what Wake for Warriors does!

“I needed this!”… a phrase heard several times over the weekend here on Lake Allatoona for event #4 of the 2021 Wake for Warriors season.  A sense of deep gratitude came over the water as a reflection of how exciting and confident we all were in cherishing these special moments following the pandemic.  The BuyWake crew joined Dave Deep, founder of WFW, and the rest of the group for another inspiring weekend full of blue skies, lake vibes, and shakas all around!

Kicking off the event, the chilly air of Friday morning lifted just as the coffee ran out and the riders started to shed their wetsuits. Boats were stocked with a quiver of wakeboards, wakesurfers and CGA vests provided by the good folks from Hyperlite Wake. For the new-goers, the day as a whole was an introduction to the healing power of water sports, and the more experienced veterans were captivated by a new challenge of foiling. Read More >

Down and Dirty with Dirty Dowdy

It’s been a while since we’ve had any major pro events thanks to the pandemic, and even longer for Mike Dowdy due to his knee injuries over the last few seasons. We thought it was a good time to catch up with Mike and ask him about his new venture, The Wake University (WakeU), and pick his brain about the current state of wake. I hope you enjoy our interview!

JL: Yo, Mike! How has the year been treating you so far?

MD: Justin! Great catching up with you. Our year has been great. Me and my wife, Darriane, are expecting our first baby boy in August! So were extremely excited for him to join us.

JL: Congratulations on the incoming little one! Has your focus towards your future changed with your family in mind? Read More >

New Nautique, Some Golf, Daytona Bike Week and Back

How’s that for a title? Last week I ventured down to Florida with my good friend EBev (OG Hyperlite rep) to participate in some “team building” with our good friends and partners, Nautique. It was without a doubt one of the more fun trips I’ve ever had. Jam packed each day is an understatement.

Lake Nona Golf & Country Club

Our trip started with a nice little round of golf at a little hole in the wall golf course called Lake Nona Golf & Country Club a week after it hosted the 2021 Gainbridge LPGA event. NBD. We had a blast from start to finish, as the fairways were pure, the bunkers were visited, and the greens rolled about as fast as it gets. It was awesome to spend the day with such an inspiring group of guys that truly have a passion for their respective brands and know how to unwind and get away from the day-to-day and enjoy a solid round. Well played, boys. Read More >
