2015 Surf Expo with BuyWake.com

BuyWake.com visits Orlando,FL for 2015 Surf Expo…aka Bro Party

So every year the water sports industry descends upon Orlando for Surf Expo. Retailers from across the globe come to see new product and get one on one time with some of the brands. We always like getting to Expo and seeing all our friends from brands and especially some of our Team Riders. This year we saw some of the coolest booths ever! Liquid Force had a clean open aired booth and was laced with their entire line. Some highlights were seeing the 2016 LTD boards and boots with the LF’N Awesome theme to it! Our good friend Harley Clifford showed us his 2016 Remedy and his 2016 LTD product.

Lake Ronix Trip – Recap

Courtney Kobold won a trip of a lifetime to Lake Ronix and all she had to do was enter!! Remember that next time we are having a contest because you too can win! Can you imagine spending two days at this magical place? Courtney was kind enough to send us a thoughtful email recounting her time at Lake Ronix.

So, Lake Ronix. It was definitely an experience.

We landed in Orlando Friday night and decided we should probably go out and celebrate by getting Brett drunk and we definitely succeeded. The next day we were given a tour of Lake Ronix, which is an incredible property, and took a couple sets on the boat on two Ronix surfers. We followed the day up with a rowdy night out with a couple of the team riders who were an absolute blast. Never a dull moment with Justin Teich and Todd Watson that’s for sure. The next morning started out with personally delivered Pizza for breakfast from Parks. What a legend. During the day we hit up the front lake for a couple down and backs. Which was awesome. That night we chilled out by the fire and Todd told some pretty interesting ghost stories. The next morning we went on a killer paddle around the entire lake with Lily (Justin’s pup). We then hung around the lake and watched Massi and Jamie throw down before we headed back to the airport. Being able to ride at Lake Ronix was definitely one for the books and we cannot wait to go back. We couldn’t thank BuyWake and Ronix enough for the opportunity and for the incredible time. The All New 2016 Nautique G Series

Hands down one of the best boats in Wakeboarding is the Nautique G Series.  When Nautique released the new design it hit everyone with a welcome smack to the face!  In addition to wakeboarding, the Nautique G Series is known for being one of the best wakesurfing boats there is.  The Nautique Surf System or NSS as it’s commonly referred to has taken the sport of wakesufing and promptly placed it on the map.  If the boat wasn’t already good enough Nautique just released their all new and improved G Series for 2016 and it’s packed with features!  A new hull, interior, and control system you need to prepare yourself….it’s mind blowing.  Listen to team rider Jeff McKee and the legend himself Mr. Shaun Murry as they walk you through the new Nautique G Series… #GameChanger. ABC’s World of X Games to Showcase First-ever Real Wake Wakeboarding Video Competition

Growing the popular Real Series lineup, the ABC’s World of X Games will air the first-ever Real Wake Driven by MasterCraft video competition this summer, in collaboration with Alliance MultiMedia. The competition will showcase some of the biggest names in wakeboarding today reconnecting the sport with X Games for the first time since 2005.

ESPN X Games and Alliance MultiMedia involved MasterCraft Boats given the company’s long-standing history with X Games and their commitment to supporting competitive wakeboarding and the progression of watersports. Part of a summer-long initiative, Real Wake Driven by MasterCraft will be followed by the MasterCraft Throwdown event on August 8, 2015. Read More >

Harley Clifford – The Perfect Score

Before the 2015 Nautique Boats Masters, a perfect score of 100.00 had only been achieved once in professional board sports competition history, and it was in snowboarding.   Shaun White scored a perfect 100.00 in the 2012 Winter X Games half pipe and set the internet on fire with praisers and haters a like.  The question we’re all asking, is a perfect 100.00 something that competing athletes strive for?

Watch below and ask yourself did he score a 100.00 or 99.73?

 

Fast forward to 2015 and check out Harley Clifford’s final run that scored him a perfect 100.00 at the 2015 Nautique Boats Masters.

 

Now understand this…we know the comparison of wakeboarding to snowboarding is a long shot, but without a doubt, Harley Clifford truly deserved a perfect score of 100.00.  If you’re able to link those same tricks together, then you too deserve a perfect score.  Harley Clifford’s perfect score run will forever go into the history books as “the perfect run” and you can’t take that away from him.  So to all you wakeboarders out there that want to get into this sport – start learning double flips.  Seriously the game has changed.
