Gas Price Solutions | Future of Wakeboats

Gas prices are high and are showing no signs of coming down (maybe that’s why Dubai is the new wakeboarding hotspot?). Unless you can pull off some crazy s**t like this guy , you will definitely be forking out the Benjamins this summer for a day on the lake.

Enter Correct Craft (CC), a boating company that operates on a lofty foundation of 87 years of unparalleled quality and innovation. Recently, CC announced via press release that they will be unveiling the first all-electric wakeboarding boat at the Detroit Boat Show in a couple weeks in the form of a Super Air Nautique 230E. Check out the press release below:

Considering the boating industry is the driving force behind watersports, we are excited to see this sort of innovation. Hopefully, other companies will take notice. Here’s the specs of the current gas-powered Super Air Nautique 230 as seen on www.nautique.com. Read More >

Wake Park Tank Breaks at ATL Boatshow

A water tank inside the Georgia World Congress Center collapsed this morning sending nearly 200,000 gallons of water across the floor of the Georgia World Congress Center. The tank was the first of two pools in the new Wake Park, the Boat Show’s main attraction.

The water was powerful enough to misplace bleachers, boats, and other items. The cause of the collapse is not yet known.

Lately, with opinion leaders like Shawn Watson, Gabe Lucas, Jeff Mckee, and Kevin Henshaw giving their nod of approval to these nontraditional boards, one can’t ignore the potential of flex. I personally have not ridden a traditionally constructed wakeboard since the Fall of 2007, back when only one or two major brands had fully committed to the idea of manufacturing a flexible wakeboard.

Fast forward to 2012 and almost every major wakeboard manufacturer offers some kind of flex board in their line up with applications ranging from solely hitting sliders (like the early Hyperlite Roam series) to charging the wake fast and hard (like the new 2012 Slingshot Lyman). Here’s a quick guide to contrast some of the most prominent flex boards on the market for 2012. Read More >

DEFY – The Danny Harf Project | Review | Contest

It has been a while since a wakeboard flick has generated this much hype. I mean…before DEFY came out it was already one of 30 official selections to the 2012 X-DANCE Action Sports Film Festival in Park City, Utah. This alone puts DEFY and producer Sean Kilgus in an elite category of visual heavyweights including The Art of Flight by Brain Farm Prods.

First Impressions: The two-disc “collectors  edition” comes with a Blu-Ray disc, a standard DVD, a limited cover graphic, and a handful of stickers. The inside cover shows a sequence of Harf stomping a massive Toeside Mute Double Roll. This is a really nice touch that is definitely easy on the eyes.

The Movie: The first noteworthy scenes include archival footage of Harf in what looks to be some sort of “sponsor-me” tape. ‘Twas the late 90s, Danny was 12 years old and blonde tips were all the rage. Read More >
