In the third installment of the Summer Ride Tour, John Akerman stopped by the shop and scooped up the van for a road trip to Atlanta. The first stop was the Liner’s house (AKA Surf Dad and Surf Mom) where the crew stayed for the majority of the trip. They were absolutely amazing hosts! The boys surfed their brains out and one of the trip highlights was John signing Gabe’s Nautique G23! After a fun stay with the Liners, they packed up the van and had a demo day with Watersports Central and BuyWake.com on Lake Allatoona at the famous Blue Cat Lodge location. John spent the day coaching up everyone that came out. One of those riders was P5 team rider Jake Borton. Jake is one the best wakesurf enthusiasts we know and he reps P5 with a passion. Well we did it again…we survived another fun filled weekend at the Nautique Masters at Callaway Garden with industry friends, Athletes, and family! We were pretty sure the rain would keep us down, but thankfully we only got hit with rain once or twice for a short amount of time. Robin Lake went off with the best crowd cheering on the most elite athletes in the world!
Cheers to all that competed this year and we can’t wait to be back next year! Congrats to Reed, Meagan, and Harley on their wins! Stars on the water, warriors in the sun! Big thanks go out to all the Nautique crew who put on this event and our Hyperlite support from Ebev and Mike!
Wake for Warriors is a non-profit organization founded in 2010 by Marine Corps veteran Dave Deep. After serving four deployments abroad, Dave experienced first hand what our brave men and women in uniform were dealing with and decided he was going to do something to help them. Dave is passionate about wakeboarding and wakesurfing and wanted to channel his love of watersports into a positive, healing experience for his fellow service members.
We Came as Warriors, We Left as Friends
“Wake for Warriors is all about helping to alleviate those physical and emotional wounds that effect military members and their families,” reflects Deep. “Through wakeboarding and wakesurfing, we help service men and women make connections with other veterans and help heal through a weekend on the water.”
What a weekend it was. The weather was perfect, the company was captivating, and the riding was inspirational.
