What a wild four days of wakeboarding competition we had here in Acworth, Georgia! The worlds best Wakeboarders descended upon Lake Allatoona for the 2017 Nautique Wakeboard Nationals and it was nothing short of action packed. BuyWake Team Riders Harley Clifford, Mike Dowdy, and Noah Flegel topped the Podium for a full BuyWake sweep and each took home arguably one of the coolest trophies. The Wakeskating was a little touch and go due to the conditions on the water, but Reed Hansen came out on top and proved once again he knows how to compete no matter the conditions. On the women’s podium BuyWake Team Rider Nicola Butler came in second place just behind Nautique Athelete Meagan Ethell who charged it all day to take the win.
For the Girls #BeBoldForChange – By Nicola Butler
Inspire, Dream, Believe, and Succeed.
We’ve always been in support of women’s wakeboarding and wakeskating. You can look at the statistics and see that it’s not a 50/50 participation because there are more men that ride then women, but that doesn’t mean any brand, media, or peers should treat them any differently. Look we get it…it’s 2017 and times are indeed changing. Voices will be heard and none more powerful and direct than our Team Rider Nicoal Butler’s. Watch the video “For The Girls” that Nicola Butler did featuring a heavy dose of badass girls doing badass things.

20 under 20 w/ Blake Bishop: The Outsiders
New to the wake scene is a killer new site called The Outsiders. With a diverse stance on Wake x Art x Music x Culture they are supplying some fresh air to this industry. The site just launched on Monday and it already has a good amount of content that you need to check out. The “Not Just Another Harley Interview” is a good one and he lets you in on some interesting events in his life thus far. Another fun and fresh section is the 20 under 20 and it starts of with AmbushBoardCo team rider Blake Bishop…aka the future heartbreaker. Definitely bookmark this site and stay up with core wake culture…you won’t be disappointed.
Wake Queens in Mexico
Nicola Butler and Melissa Marquardt recently travelled to Mexico to stack footage for a full length film dubbed, Al Sur. The film is being produced by pro rider Trevor Mar and is designed to spread awareness of the wakeboarding as a sport in Mexico.
Here are some behind-the-scenes footage from the trip with some boat highlights mixed in throughout.

Sets In Motion – A Women’s Wake Film
Oakley’s game changing women’s wakeboard series, Sets In Motion, gives girls a unique platform in which to showcase their talent on the water. Now the pinnacle of the project, The Sets In Motion Movie, splices together the best action from the series plus a hefty dose of new wake footage. These are the girls that propelled women’s wakeboarding to where it is today. From the first 720 executed by a woman to the first mobe 540, it’s all here.
“I wanted to create a platform and a project for the girls that’s going to be timeless and online and for everyone to see forever. It was an idea, in a way, for me to push the girls and motivate them to progress their riding harder than what they’ve ever done in the past.” – Amber Wing
