If you’re a regular user of the internet (I assume you are), you are well aware that anyone can make a wakeboarding video these days and upload it to the web. This past year we were bombarded with mini edits, parts, teasers, web series, product unveilings, contest videos, highlight reels, etc. There’s certainly no shortage of stoke, but has the art of producing quality wakeboard parts been lost in quantity? Video has always played a huge roll in wakeboarding, but the model is constantly changing. In the past five years there has been a huge influx in online wakeboarding clips, parts, edits, reviews, etc. Anyone can do it. So, will we eventually lose interest in the art of wakeboard film making due to this over abundance? Judging from this Raph Derome part from Liquid Force, Justin Loiselle, and Jonathen Ferguson, no, we wont.
This is perhaps our favorite “web edit” all year. The riding, filming, and creativity made us want to drop everything we were doing and go wakeboarding. This is exactly what a wakeboard film should do. Thank you for the inspiration, Raph.
Check out Jimmy LaRiche getting down behind the famed Nautiqe G23 & behind the cable at OWC. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from watching this video, it’s that Indy Glides to switch need to make a come back and Mr. LaRiche keeps his ratio on point.
