The Best of 2012 | Web Edits

If you’re a regular user of the internet (I assume you are), you are well aware that anyone can make a wakeboarding video these days and upload it to the web. This past year we were bombarded with mini edits, parts, teasers, web series, product unveilings, contest videos, highlight reels, etc. There’s certainly no shortage of stoke, but has the art of producing quality wakeboard parts been lost in quantity? No! You just have to do a bit of digging to find the ones that shine. Fortunate enough for you, we’ve rounded up our top three and imbedded them below. Happy shredding.

“Cheers to Summer” Jimmy Lariche & Patrick Weiland

Jimmy teamed up with filmer Patrick Weiland for this edit. Loads of good riding, sharp editing, and scantily clad boat fluff. It looks like Jimmy had a fun summer.

*Filmed with a Canon 60d, a GoPro HD 2, and a Canon 5d Mark II.

Reed Hansen’s Battle Falls – The Whole StoryReed Hansen & Sean Kilgus

This epic mini-documentary depicts the trials and tribulations of the Battle Falls build at the WWC compound in Groveland, Florida. Reed teamed up with award winning videographer Sean Kilgus of BFY Productions, Fox, and Deiter Humpsch to make this happen. The edit includes some of the most entertaining wakeskate footage we have ever seen.

“Raph” – Raphael Derome & Jonathan Ferguson for Liquid Force.

This video left us speechless. Raphs depiction of wakeboarding is very refreshing and is exactly what wakeboarding needs. He and his crew brought a skate-esque feel to this edit by mixing up spots, lines, and getting very creative overall. Raph’s skills shine behind boat, cable, and certainly while winching. He excels on everything. Young rippers take note.
